Sunday afternoon pool party

We all played outside this afternoon while Daddy worked on building our "custom" cornhole game. The kids enjoyed the pool and the sprinkler; I'm thinking we may need to upgrade our pool for next year - ha!

Naylor's Early Birthday Present

He really enjoyed driving (those are stickers on his face).

Our neighbors passed down these PowerWheels about a year ago, but at the time Naylor was too small to have a lot of real fun on them. So as part of his birthday present this year, we purchased a battery and charger - I know, we really do spoil him!

The weather has been so nice in the evenings, we decided to get him hooked up last night. He LOVED driving them around and was pretty serious about his driving (with his tongue out almost the entire time). Lalon kept laughing as he'd drive by, so she was having fun too!

Happy 10 month birthday Lalon!

Today is Lalon's 10 month birthday and I'd say she's had a pretty good day. Woke up, had some milk, some cheerios, some applesauce, lots of playing, a GREAT nap and now more playing! It's a hard life, but someone has to do it - I can't think of anyone else doing it in a cuter way. :)

A very basic start to # 3's room... we have a LOT of work to do to get that all set up! I'm not sure what I'm going to do with everything that was in that room... yard sale anyone?!?!

Lalon generally wears dresses, so when I put this on her today she looked so grown up! She's just the sweetest and growing so quickly!

Mommy's Dr visit

I went in for a check-up today on # 3 and all is well. Everything looked great on my blood work, weight and a strong heart beat for baby so we got the thumbs up. Go back in a month for a quick check and then the visit after that will be our next ultrasound.

We put up the crib this past weekend and I started putting the bedding on. Our neighbor is taking the quilt from the set and an extra sheet and she's going to make some valances for the windows. It's a gender friendly bedding set, so our current plan is to not find out the sex of the baby until the big day; we'll see if we last!

Out like a light... with a few of his favorite books of course!

Well today we bit the bullet and moved Naylor into the toddler version of his bed. I was really resisting because he's totally happy and not close (at least today) to jumping out of his bed, but Brian and I both figured it would be easier to work on now than if / when he starts crib jumping about 5 days after Baby # 3 gets here!

So this morning we all went in Naylor's room and working on transitioning his crib to a bed, he loved helping his Daddy, especially with the drill. Lalon was playing in her room, heard the commotion and came crawling in to see what was going on (she's everywhere now!).

Naylor kept climbing in and out of his new bed and the look on his face was a mixture of excitement and pride - you could tell he was in hog heaven! We kept working on his room and did a little moving around stuff in the baby's room (and set up the crib).

He ate lunch and then we tried it out! I had taken out his toy box so that he just had his bed and a bucket of books. After about 30 minutes it was quiet, so Brian and I went up to see what was going on. As we peeked in, he was climbing out of his bed, got a book and got back up in his bed and 'read' his book... in just a few more minutes he was completely asleep.

Lalon's crawling!

She's been scooting around - I'm actually not quite sure what she was doing, but she'd always be in a different spot than I left her. Anyway, she's officially crawling on her hands and knees, can go from crawling to sitting up and can pull up on some things. She's getting better about sitting down from her pull up, but sometimes she gets scared and/or forgets how and that's kind of funny.

I've had folks ask often what the age difference in kids will be, so sit down, take a deep breath and prepare yourself to say a quick prayer for us!

Naylor and Lalon are just 13 months apart.

Naylor will be 1 month shy of 2 1/2 when # 3 arrives;

Lalon will be 15 months old when # 3 arrives.

That's right folks, 3 kids less than 2 1/2 and no multiples... I know, I get the craziest looks when I'm out with the two of them now and you can't tell I'm pregnant yet. Folks may start calling the looney bin for me when I'm actually showing - ha!

We are crazy for sure, but loving every single minute of it!

Here we go... one last time!

That's right, most of you know, but Baby Higgins # 3 is on it's way. Official due date of March 4th, but all the doctors and I agreed it would most likely be a February baby due to my history!

So far things are going great and feeling really good... a little tired, but I can't honestly say if that's the baby or keeping up with Naylor and Lalon - ha!

My girlfriend Meredith said we were like Apple with a new version each year and now refers to # 3 as iHiggins - I thought that was pretty funny.
